Planning a last minute elopement in the Lake District?

This one is for you

Planning a last-minute intimate wedding or elopement in the Lake District can be challenging, but with the right approach and mindset, it can also be an enjoyable and romantic task for you to complete together. Here are some tips to help you plan your last-minute wedding in the Lake District:

Choose the Right Venue

As you are planning your last-minute wedding, you may not have the luxury of time to scout multiple venues. Try to look for a venue that can accommodate your wedding size and has availability on your preferred wedding date. The Lake District offers several options, such as lodges, hotels, and outdoor spaces that may suit your needs.

Some of my personal favourites are:

Armathwaite Hall - https://www.armathwaite-hall.com/

Townhead Estate - https://www.townheadestate.com/

Holesfoot - https://holesfoot.co.uk/

Lowhall - https://www.lowhallthelakes.com/

Brierywood - https://www.lakedistrictcountryhotels.co.uk/briery-wood-hotel

Cragwood - https://www.lakedistrictcountryhotels.co.uk/cragwood-hotel

Find an Officiant

You'll need to find someone who can legally marry you. The Lake District is home to several licensed registrars who can perform your ceremony at your chosen venue. Usually your venue will give you pointers towards getting the legal side sorted.

Hire A photographer

Your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life, so you'll want to capture those special moments. Hire a photographer who has experience with last-minute weddings and is available on your wedding day.

Keep the Guest List Small

One of the benefits of having a last-minute wedding is that you can keep the guest list small and intimate. This will also make it easier to find a venue and to coordinate with vendors.

Choose Decorations & Extras

Since you won't have a lot of time to plan, it's best to keep your decorations simple. You can create a romantic atmosphere with candles, flowers, and other little things. The more personal the decorations and little touches are, the better. Usually with more time and a bigger guest list, all the little important details can get overlooked.

Keep the Menu Simple

When it comes to food, keep it simple and choose a few dishes that you and your partner love. Remember that your wedding is all about YOU. Choose food that is going to make you both happy.

Planning a last-minute wedding in the Lake District may seem overwhelming, but it can also be an adventure. With these tips, you can create a beautiful and memorable day that you will cherish forever.
