I’m incredibly proud to share that Lara Luis Photography has been named one of Loverly’s Best International Wedding Photographers for 2026-27.
It’s one of those pieces of news that takes a little while to sink in.
Being recognised internationally, having my work selected from photographers across the world, and seeing Lara Luis Photography listed alongside so many incredibly talented wedding photographers is a really significant moment for me and for this business.
What is The Loverly List?
If you haven't come across Loverly before, Loverly is an international wedding planning platform and editorial resource, created to help couples discover trusted wedding professionals, inspiration and advice as they plan their celebrations.
Each year, Loverly publishes The Loverly List, a curated selection of wedding professionals from around the world. The 2026-27 list features photographers across countries including the UK, Australia, Canada, France, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and more.
Rather than being simply a directory, Loverly explains that its editors select professionals against four standards: diverse selection, design and aesthetic, reputation, and quality of service.
For the 2026-27 list, Loverly describes its chosen photographers as professionals who consistently stand out for their artistry, professionalism and care.
That makes being included particularly meaningful to me.
I’m listed amongst photographers working all over the world, each with their own distinctive approach to documenting weddings. To have my own work recognised within that group is something I’m incredibly proud of.
Why this recognition means so much to me
There are plenty of parts of being a wedding photographer that I love.
I love making photographs. I love beautiful light, incredible venues, thoughtful details and creating portraits that feel a little bit like art.
But the part that has always mattered most to me is the people.
I become incredibly invested in my couples.
I want to know about the plans you've been making, the things you're excited about, the things you're nervous about and all the little details you've been obsessing over. I want to be someone you can message when you aren't sure about your timeline, your plans for photographs or whether something will actually work on the day.
And when the wedding finally arrives, I care just as much.
I still cry during the vows.
I still cry through speeches.
I still get ridiculously excited when I know I'm about to photograph a moment that is going to mean something to you.
I don't think I'll ever stop feeling incredibly lucky that people invite me into such an important part of their lives.
There is something quite extraordinary about being trusted with the photographs that will become part of a family's history.
More than just the photographs
Of course, the photographs matter enormously to me.
I want them to be beautiful. I want them to feel timeless. I want them to have an editorial quality while still feeling completely honest to the people in them.
But I also want the experience of having your wedding photographed to feel just as good.
I never want you to feel like you've simply booked someone who arrives with a camera, takes a few photographs and disappears again.
I want to be invested in your day from the moment you enquire.
That might mean helping you think through your timeline, talking through locations, recommending suppliers, answering the many questions that inevitably come up during wedding planning, or simply being someone who is genuinely excited alongside you.
And then, on the wedding day itself, I want you to feel that you're in safe hands.
I want you to be able to enjoy your wedding rather than spending the whole day thinking about your photographs.
I'll guide you when you need it, step back when the moment doesn't need interference, and keep an eye out for all the things you might not even notice are happening.
Because the photographs I want to create aren't just about what your wedding looked like.
They're about how it felt.
The anticipation before the ceremony.
The way your dad looked at you as you walked down the aisle.
The tears during the speeches.
Your friends completely losing themselves on the dance floor.
The little things you spent months planning.
The people you love most, all gathered together in one place.
Those are the things you'll want to remember.
A recognition of the work behind the photographs
When Loverly shared the reason behind my selection, they said:
“Out of tens of thousands of nominations from around the world, you stood out as one of the most trusted, talented, and highly recommended wedding professionals in the industry. This recognition is for the work you do, the creativity you bring, and the impact you’ve made in the wedding space.”
That meant a lot to me.
Because behind every photograph is a couple who trusted me.
Behind every gallery is a wedding day I cared deeply about.
And behind this business is a huge amount of time, energy, learning, dreaming, second-guessing and creating.
There is so much care that goes into what happens before I ever pick up my camera, and so much thought that goes into what happens afterwards.
So while being named one of Loverly's Best International Wedding Photographers is an exciting accolade in itself, I'm especially proud that the recognition reflects not just the photographs, but the experience and care behind them.
Looking ahead
Being recognised internationally is something I never want to take for granted.
I'm incredibly proud of how far Lara Luis Photography has come, and even more excited about where it is going.
I’m based in Cheshire, photographing weddings throughout the UK and travelling for celebrations further afield. Destination weddings have always been something I've loved, and being included on a list of international photographers makes this next chapter feel particularly exciting.
Whether I'm photographing a beautiful country house wedding closer to home or travelling somewhere completely new for a couple's celebration, the thing that stays the same is the reason I do it.
For the people.
For the stories.
For the photographs that allow you to return to those days long after they're over.
And for the enormous privilege of being trusted to document them.
