A Colourful Summer Wedding at Wyresdale Park
Nestled on the edge of the Forest of Bowland, Wyresdale Park is a venue that feels like it was plucked straight out of a storybook, and Brad and Emily’s wedding there was nothing short of magical.
As a North West UK and Cheshire wedding photographer, I’m lucky enough to visit some incredible venues, but Wyresdale Park is one that always stands out. With its beautifully restored stone barns, charming gardens, and a newly renovated space that’s full of natural light, it offers endless possibilities for couples dreaming of a unique and personal wedding day.
The day danced between sunshine and soft summer rain, creating the most romantic, golden glow across the venue. Brad and Emily took it all in their stride, laughing through the raindrops and soaking up every moment. Their golden retriever, Bertie, even made a guest appearance, adding a personal, heart-melting touch that had everyone smiling. (Yes, Bertie even made it into the couple portraits. Of course he did.)
Emily’s vision for the day was full of bold, joyful colour, vibrant florals, and fun, playful touches everywhere you looked. Against the rustic stone backdrop of Wyresdale Park’s barns, the palette popped perfectly. The stonework, both inside and out, gives the venue such warmth and texture, it’s a dream to photograph and suits every season, but there’s something about summer light that really makes it shine.
One of the best parts about Wyresdale Park is how many spaces it offers within one location. From the ceremony barn with its soft neutral tones and exposed beams, to the bright, airy reception room (hello, newly renovated magic!) it’s a photographer’s dream. The indoor space is flooded with light even on a cloudy day, and the whitewashed walls make every colour pop.
Outside, the grounds stretch out into peaceful greenery and elegant stone. Couples can wander hand-in-hand through the gardens, around the lake, or take a quiet moment near the old boathouse. Every corner feels considered, yet natural.
