That moment on the stairs, before the day unfolded.
Amy paused halfway up, light filtering softly through Holesfoot’s windows, knowing Oliver was waiting just above. A breath, a smile, and then everything began.
Amy and Oliver’s February wedding at Holesfoot was a masterclass in intention. Set in the heart of Cumbria, this beautiful celebration felt timeless, personal, and deeply intimate. As a North West wedding photographer, it’s days like this that remind me how powerful thoughtful details and meaningful moments can be.
White roses and gypsophila dressed the space, styled beautifully by @seedandwild. These weren’t chosen simply for their softness or elegance, but because they are the same flowers Oliver buys Amy each week. Seeing them woven throughout the venue felt like a quiet love letter, familiar and full of heart.
Music flowed gently through the entire day, with a live pianist playing from morning through to evening. It set a calm, cinematic rhythm and allowed the day to unfold naturally, something I always look for when photographing weddings across the North West.
Their ceremony was one you could truly feel. Personal vows were shared, words Amy already knew by heart, yet hearing them spoken aloud still carried weight and warmth. There was laughter, knowing glances, and that unmistakable sense of two people completely at home with one another.
As evening fell, twinkling lights glowed overhead, adding to the magic of Holesfoot in winter. Cakes by @wrencakedesign were so beautiful, and @foraycatering kept everyone wonderfully fed throughout the day, with food that felt generous, refined, and considered.
This wedding was filled with joy and laughter, but also those quieter, in-between moments that linger long after. An intimate celebration led by connection, soul, and intention.
Amy and Oliver’s Holesfoot wedding is a perfect example of why I love photographing weddings across Cumbria and the North West. Days that feel honest, elegant, and deeply personal will always be the most memorable.
