What a year.

2025 was the kind of wedding season that fills your heart to the brim - a year packed with unforgettable celebrations, breathtaking venues, and couples who reminded me again and again why I adore being a Cheshire wedding photographer. From elegant manor-house moments to rustic-luxe country vibes, this year brought so much beauty I could almost burst trying to choose the highlights.

So, here it is. A little look back at some of my favourite stories, wedding venues and “you truly couldn’t make this up” moments from the past twelve months.

The Most Beautiful Cheshire & North West Venues of the Year

One of my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer in Cheshire is just how many incredible venues sit right on the doorstep. This year I was lucky enough to shoot at some truly exceptional locations - each one with its own personality, its own charm, and its own kind of magic.

Holesfoot

Holesfoot continues to feel like a secret garden tucked into the countryside. It’s grand but warm, elegant without ever feeling stiff. The walled garden in summer gave me some of my all-time favourite golden-hour portraits this year - the kind that make you audibly gasp when you look at the back of the camera. It’s a venue that suits couples wanting that refined, timeless aesthetic I love to capture.

Soughton Hall

If you’re dreaming of a stately yet deeply romantic wedding venue, Soughton Hall is the sort of place that feels like stepping into a period drama. The sweeping staircase, the chandelier-lit rooms, the manicured gardens… it’s the perfect backdrop for couples wanting editorial-style wedding photography in Cheshire.

Berwick House

Berwick House brought all the storybook charm this year. Think old-world elegance mixed with sprawling grounds and the softest, most flattering light. This venue really shines for couples who want a timeless countryside wedding with a luxurious finish.

Wyresdale Park

Wyresdale Park always feels like a warm hug. It's rustic yet refined, soulful yet stylish. From the boathouse to the white barns, every corner photographs beautifully. This year's weddings here were some of the most joy-filled - live music drifting across the lawn, barefoot dancing, and couples who embraced every moment with full hearts. If you love a relaxed but elevated vibe, Wyresdale Park never misses.

The Couples Who Made 2025 Sparkle

More than venues, though, it’s always the couples who define a year.

This season brought together people who laughed hard, cried happily, danced wildly, told the best stories, and treated their wedding day like the celebration of a lifetime. I photographed couples who let the rain pour down and embraced it, and couples who trusted me completely - which is honestly the greatest gift anyone can give a photographer.

I had brides who wore heirloom veils, grooms who cried at the first look (my favourite), families who welcomed me like one of their own, and friendship groups who made every wedding feel like an adventure.

Funniest Moment of the Year

And here it is - the moment that wins “Accidental Comedy Gold” for 2025.

At the top of the aisle, right in the middle of the ceremony, a bridesmaid leaned in to give the groom a quick, friendly kiss on the cheek… except she slightly misjudged her angle and planted a full, proper kiss on him instead.

The collective gasp-laugh from the guests was one of the best sounds I’ve heard all year. The groom froze. The bride burst into giggles. The bridesmaid went bright red. And the photo sequence? Absolutely priceless.

Looking Back - And Forward

2025 felt like the year everything aligned - the light, the venues, the couples, the stories, all of it. As a Cheshire wedding photographer, I’m constantly inspired by the beauty of this region, the warmth of the people here, and the incredible love stories I get to document.

If you’re planning your wedding in Cheshire or the North West and dreaming of natural, heartfelt, elegant photography - I’d love to hear your story.

Here’s to the next year of magic.
