Katy & Sam
Some weddings are full of grandeur, but others—like Katy and Sam’s elopement—are a quiet kind of magic. The kind where time slows down, and the world feels like it belongs just to you.
I met them at their cozy cottage in Grasmere, as they put the final touches on their outfits. No rush, no stress—just excitement for the adventure ahead. We piled into the car together and set off towards Blea Tarn, winding through the breathtaking landscapes of the Lake District
When we arrived, we wandered along the rugged paths, stopping to take in the views, to laugh, to soak up every little moment. Katy’s dress trailed over wild grass, Sam’s hand in hers as they explored, completely wrapped up in the moment.
Then, in the most epic finale, they kicked off their shoes and ran straight into the tarn—wedding outfits and all. The water sparkled around them, the last of the sunlight dancing on the ripples. Laughter echoed through the valley as they splashed and swam, wild and free.
Some love stories are meant to be told in grand manor houses. Others, like Katy and Sam’s, are written in golden light, mountain air, and the cool embrace of a wild tarn at sunset.
BLEA TARN
Nestled in the heart of the Lake District, Blea Tarn is a secluded, picture-perfect spot surrounded by towering fells and rolling hills. It’s the kind of place that feels untouched, where the still waters reflect the sky and the silence is only broken by the sound of the breeze through the trees. A dream for adventurous souls, it’s a hidden gem for elopements—offering both dramatic landscapes and intimate moments away from the crowds. As the sun sets, the whole valley glows with soft, golden light, making it an unreal backdrop for a love story like Katy and Sam’s.
